Understanding Files

Chatway provides you with a place to store all your Files, so all your documents, Files and folders are in one, centralized location. You can add Files or folders from your desktop, mobile device or Google Drive

Adding & Sharing Files or Folders

  1. From within the chat, click the Files tool.
  2. Click the blue + icon and choose the top icon to add a single document, file or your entire Google Drive.
  3. Select the file you want to share.

Creating a Folder

  1. From within the chat, click the Files tool.
  2. Click the blue + icon and choose the middle icon that looks like a folder.
  3. Add a name for the folder and click OK.

Add a File to a Folder

  1. Click the File tool.
  2. Click the Folder you want to add the file to. 
  3. Click the blue + icon and then the top icon for a file.
  4. Select the file you want to add to the folder. 

Share Your ENTIRE Google Drive

  1. From within the chat, click the Files tool.
  2. Click the blue + icon and choose the bottom icon that looks like a cloud.

Adding Comments to Files

Chatway is set up to make collaborating simple. You can add comments, feedback and emojis to any File.

  1. Tap the File.
  2. Add your comment (you can also tap the smiley face to add emojis) and hit the send arrow.

Seeing File Notifications

You can see a list of all File notifications including new or updated Files, and newly added attachments and comments.  

  1. Tap the bell icon in the top right corner. 
  2. 2. Tap any notification for more actions.

Connect Google Drive to Chatway 

If you use Google Drive, you can connect it and share individual files to chats.

  1. From the main chat screen, click the 3 Dot Menu.
  2. Next, click Settings.
  3. Under the Connected Cloud Accounts, click File Storage.
  4. Click the blue + icon and select Google Drive.
  5. You will be taken to your Google Accounts page to enter your email address and password. To complete the connection, click Allow.
